The EVQ4436A-R-00A evaluation board is designed to demonstrate the capabilities of the MPQ4436A-AEC1 and MPQ4436A. The MPQ4436A is a synchronous, step-down, switching regulator with a configurable frequency and integrated, internal high-side MOSFET (HS-FET) and low-side MOSFET (LS-FET). It provides up to 6A of highly efficient output current (IOUT), with current mode control for fast loop response. The wide 3.3V to 45V input voltage (VIN) range accommodates a variety of step-down applications in an automotive input environment. A 1.7μA quiescent current (IQ) in shutdown mode allows the part to be used in battery-powered applications. High power conversion efficiency across a wide load range is achieved by scaling down the switching frequency (fSW) under light-load conditions to reduce switching and gate driver losses. Frequency foldback prevents inductor current (IL) runaway during start-up. Thermal shutdown provides reliable, fault-tolerant operation. A high duty cycle and low-dropout mode are also provided for automotive cold-crank conditions. The MPQ4436A is available in a QFN-20 (4mmx4mm) package with wettable flanks.
