The USB Power Delivery Software Framework (PSF) software stack is a full featured PD3.0 software implementation.
Software registers enable customization of virtually all features. Status and Control registers provide a method of reporting to host software applications, which can run co-resident with PSF or on an external system controller, and enable modification of operation based on system requirements. Flexibility in I/O assignment and an I2C interface insures compatibility with a large range of power supply architectures. These features combine to allow designers to create a unique customer experience and differentiate their products from other PD implementation
The USB Power Delivery Software Framework can be tested using either a full featured evaluation kit or smaller application example boards. The USB PD Software Framework Evaluation Kit (EV65D44A), is a full-featured hardware development platform for evaluating Microchip’s PSF. This RoHS-compliant development platform uses Microchip’s SAMD20 micro-controller and UPD350 Type-C™ USB Power Delivery (PD) Transceiver. It also supports Microchip’s PD3.0 compliant UPD301B/C standalone Type-C™ PD controller. Powered by the highly configurable PSF software stack, the PSF EVB enables easy implementation of up to two Type-C™ USB PD ports.
PSF can enable both simple designs for quick time to market and unique designs for a differentiated customer experience. The PSF software stack and user guides can be found at the Microchip Github site. PSF is a licensed software stack. Please refer to the license agreement for details. Additional information can be found on the Microchip developer page.
YG GROUP (YUGUANG INTERNATIONAL(HK)CO.,LTD) supports reliable sourcing through quality controls and compliance documentation. Please confirm product requirements, applicable certifications and supporting documents before ordering.
PSF is an authentic electronic component manufactured by Microchip, categorized under Power Management ICs. It is supplied in the standard manufacturer-specified package footprint, providing industry-standard mechanical dimensions and terminal configurations for board-level assembly. Full pinout configurations, physical footprint drawings, and rated operating tolerances are documented in the official PSF datasheet above.
Electronic component spot-market pricing for PSF fluctuates based on real-time global availability, production date codes, minimum order quantities (MOQ), and packaging formats (e.g., Reel, Tube, Tray). Using an RFQ ensures you receive accurate, real-time volume pricing tied to verified, traceable inventory rather than stale catalog estimates.
Lead times for PSF depend on whether stock is dispatched from our central hub or regional franchise partners. Ready-to-ship inventory typically leaves the warehouse within 1–3 business days following quality inspection, while factory-direct or back-ordered allocations are confirmed with an estimated ship date upon RFQ reply.
